Welcome to the second annual Impact Report from the Construction Inclusion Coalition.
This year’s Impact Report showcases the tangible progress our coalition members are making—not just for their own organisations and people, but for the wider industry. Together, we’re building a more inclusive, resilient, and future-ready sector.
‘We are living through a period where macroeconomic and geopolitical factors are colliding to upturn the status quo, setting a range of new challenges across wider society, but also directly affecting workplaces in the construction industry.
In the face of these pressures some companies have chosen to ‘batten down the hatches’ and wait for calmer times to prevail. But I would prefer to shine a light on the companies, organisations, their people and leaders who realise that no amount of external factors will change the fundamental equation we need to solve: For our own success, the construction industry needs more people from a greater range of backgrounds to be establishing careers – not just jobs – within our sector.
It is during the compiling of these Impact Reports, when members highlight their progress and achievements, that you can begin to see that the value of work done now will not only build a positive legacy for the individual business and its people, but also the wider industry, long into the future.
Despite economic headwinds over the past 12 months the coalition has grown, is enjoying more engagement, and our level of activity is picking up the pace. No matter how the work environment can change, a fundamental truth will remain – people want to work in places where they feel they belong.
Our coalition members are opening their doors, welcoming people in and looking to build a better industry.
I remain excited about what can be achieved in the next 12 months. Inclusion starts with… making people feel wanted.’
