Patricia Dokpesi, Product Data Analyst at Baxi

My name is Patricia Dokpesi, a Nigerian currently working as a Product Data Analyst for Baxi, a leading heating manufacturing company and I’ve been with the company for 3 years now.

I’m passionate about exploring new challenges and creating meaningful impact. Outside of work, I enjoy bringing people together whether through organising events or celebrating shared moments that builds connections and community.

Patricia’s journey into the industry began when she was in education: I began my journey at Baxi as a part-time sales and customer service agent while completing my MSc in International Business & Data Analytics.

After completing my studies, an opportunity arose to transition into a Product Data Analyst role, a great way to begin my journey into the world of data, allowing me to build new skills, understand data processes and continue learning and growing in my career.

Patricia’s achievements in her career are hugely proud moments for her: Becoming the first UK & Ireland Product Data Analyst at Baxi has been one of my defining moments. Stepping into a brand-new role gave me the chance to shape it from the ground up and make a real impact.

One of these achievements was made during a Black History Month celebration in her workplace: A proud moment for me was leading the organisation of my company’s first-ever Black History Month celebration, an opportunity to create awareness, celebrate and encourage inclusion.

As a Black Woman in the industry, I’ve had to overcome feelings of self-doubt and the pressure to prove myself. It’s still a journey, but I’m learning to use my voice and embrace every opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.

Patricia’s advice to others in the industry would be: Stay curious, keep learning, and never be afraid to take up space.

Patricia’s connection to Black History Month serves as an important reminder to her: Black History Month to me is a time to reflect on how far I’ve come as an African, and a black woman navigating my career and identity with resilience and determination. It is a moment to recognise my hard work, adaptability, and the successes I’ve achieved along the way.

It also serves as a reminder to keep my shoulders high, embrace who I am with pride, and never feel inferior.

We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated.” – Maya Angelou
