Baxi brings engineering to life in the primary classroom

For the fourth consecutive year, Baxi is partnering with educational not-for-profit Primary Engineer to bring STEM into classrooms in the Preston area to inspire a new generation of engineers.

Research shows that STEM aspirations and perceptions are formed during the primary years, making early engagement with pupils vital to overcoming the skills crisis with a more diverse talent force.

In October, Baxi’s engineers started working with teachers in participating schools to deliver this year’s Primary Engineer Construction project: a shoebox tipper truck for lower primary years and a lighthouse tower with an electrical circuit for upper primary school children.

By providing the vital real-world link to engineering, our engineers hope to instil a new interest in engineering in the children, opening their eyes to the variety of career paths it offers and supporting the development of essential skills.
