Apprenticeships at Mira Showers

CIC Coalition Member, Mira Showers, believes in helping every individual reach their potential.

Through its Early Careers Programme, apprentices learn on the job with dedicated time to study. Mira’s Apprenticeship programme is for individuals looking for an alternative to university, offering a practical route into engineering, data analysis, project management or content creation. Rotations across teams give a clear feel for how the business fits together and help apprentices figure out what they enjoy and do best.

Day to day, apprentices gain on-the-job experience with support that genuinely helps: a mentor to learn from, a buddy to show the ropes and an apprentice residential during induction to break the ice and build confidence.

Personal and professional development

Learning continues through accredited study, coaching and skills workshops. Business Resource Groups help create an inclusive culture aligned with Mira Showers’ commitments, which are reflected in its annual environmental, social and governance report.

Early Careers associates are encouraged to get involved, build networks and lead initiatives that matter to them and the community and to create a more diverse, inclusive workplace where everyone can reach their potential.

Recognition and awards

Mira Showers actively encourages apprentices to enter external competitions that showcase excellence. Apprentices have won awards at affiliated college GET, been shortlisted at the Gloucestershire Live Apprenticeship Awards, acknowledged for a BMA award for Sustainability and celebrated at the local Contact Centre Awards.

Last year, Mira celebrated three Early Careers winners Joe Marsh, Lucy Whitely and Jake Blagden, alongside Sophie Chance in the BMA 30 under 30, reflecting the calibre and impact of apprentice contributions.

We also were very proud to receive the 2025 Early Careers and Apprenticeship award.

Most recently, 1st year Apprentice, Josh Owusu has been nominated for the 2026 Inspirational Youth Awards – Apprentice of the Year. “I’m incredibly grateful to my employer, mentors, colleagues, friends, and family who have supported me throughout this journey. No matter the outcome, I’m proud of how far I’ve come in just 5 months. It has motivated me even more to keep learning, growing, and pushing myself to be better every day. This recognition honestly means more to me than I can put into words.”

Personal stories

“Working at Mira is not only providing me with my next level of qualification but the experience and confidence to bring out my potential. From the Early Careers Residential where we started, to already being involved in a variety of projects and extracurriculars, I really feel part of a community that supports each other and lets every single person feel seen and heard. There is always something to bring a smile to our faces at Mira and it couldn’t be more obvious that I made the right decision.”

– Ele Breeze, Business Apprentice, 1st Year

“My apprenticeship allows me to build practical and hands-on experience, whilst studying for an accredited degree. I have already learnt so many things in just a short space of time. The apprentice residential was amazing and pushed me out of my comfort zone. What I love the most, is what a welcoming and friendly environment Mira is; associates embody the company values, and it reflects in everyone’s work.”

– Josh Owusu, Engineering Apprentice, 1st year

“I’m really enjoying my time as an apprentice at Kohler Mira. I’m currently working towards my Level 3 Engineering Technician qualification in dual-skilled engineering. I feel fortunate to be part of a positive work culture, surrounded by like-minded individuals who I can learn a great deal from. One of the many great aspects of being an apprentice is the opportunity to network across various departments and gain a deeper understanding of everyone’s role within the team.”

– Jameson Curl-Wride, Engineering Apprentice, 2nd year
